AUTO INTERIORS

Taking the timeline for the year 2040, when most of the cars on the street are autonomous, the rules no more indicate that the seatbelt is necessary, what can you do inside the car? To explore the possibilities in the situation we were divided into a set of activities you could be doing during your commute. Ours being shopping, the car took the shape of a dynamic morphing, breathing changing space. A space that changes according to the needs of the user while still keeping them connected to the outside environment.

After a study of the space needed for trying on each item, an outline for the automobile was created using the profiles from plan and sections and modelled aerodynamically. An expanding roof system is provided for the user to have maximum space while standing and changing which senses and changes according to the position of the user. The user can order the set of clothes online, say while going to a party from office. The car picks up the selected set of clothes and similar options for the person to try on. A digital mirror lets you see the same piece of clothing in different colours without trying them on. The user can ask for a change the options, as the modules can be replaced and exchanged at the old gas stations being reused as storage stations. For trying on the footwear, a three-textured treadmill is provided to try on a different surface for a different kind of footwear. The user can post or check the billboards for ongoing fashion which are connected to these cars.
